The world-famous cenotes, sacred to the Mayan people, are found exclusively along the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula.
These cenotes offer a unique and enchanting experience for Open Water Divers.
We have selected two ideal cenotes for your first dives on the Yucatan Peninsula:
Chac Mool: Meaning "Jaguar Paw," Chac Mool is a highly popular cenote and was the first to open to the public.
Kukulkan: Meaning "Feathered Serpent," Kukulkan is part of the Chac Mool system.
These two cenotes are located next to each other, providing crystal-clear freshwater, mesmerizing light plays, impressive cave formations, and fossils embedded in the stones.
They are renowned for their stunning sunlight effects.
In the morning, you can witness a breathtaking curtain of light and a captivating underwater jungle view.
At a depth of 10 meters, you will encounter a striking halocline, where salt and freshwater meet but do not mix due to their different densities, creating a hypnotic visual effect.
